Good morning, Ayse.
Heather and I want to thank your agency for the spectacular tour of Eastern Anatolia ("Where the Silk Road Meets the Garden of Eden") in October, which exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Maksut, was well educated, knowledgeable, attentive to our needs, a very safe driver, and best of all, a very pleasurable travel companion. He answered our hundreds of questions thoughtfully and well, took care of our every need and request, shared a lot of laughter, and never made us feel regimented or restricted for time and activities. We felt we were travelling with a plugged in local.
The tour itself was a never to be forgotten experience. The incredible history of E. Anatolia, its importance to civilization, fascinating culture, beautiful landscapes, delicious food and interesting people are unique and have near mythical status. We were thrilled every day to do things like have lunch in a cave beside the Tigris River, cruise and watch the sunset on the Euphrates, stand in the place that tested Job's patience, touch a cave that Abraham lived in, drive across Mesopotamia during harvest, and explore the powerful summit of Mt. Nemrut.
Finally, our accommodations were wonderful. We loved the variety, being right in town, and that they were small boutique hotels. They all clearly could only be in Turkey. Imagine our delight at staying at a beautifully converted Caravanserai used by Silk Road traders! Every hotel was interesting to explore in its own right, clean and comfortable.
We do not hestitate to recommend this tour to travellers who like to get off the beaten path, and who have an interest in learning about a place of great historical meaning. We were sad to leave the area.
Thanks to you and Maksut for a memorable and excellent tour. I'll be back with my husband for another even farther east in Turkey.
Regards,
