Dear Ayse Nur,
We have been reliving our trip through the photo albums (digital and hard copy) we have put together to show our friends and family. We had a wonderful trip, thanks to you in many ways. It's hard to list our favorites, but some of the top ones are the Zeugma mosaics, Hasankeyf, Ani, the clear view of Mt. Ararat, and the surprising enormity of Lake Van, the hunt for and the warm welcome at the sites of mission stations where Jackie's grandparents worked a hundred years ago. The barren and hot landscape on the way to Mardin, the stunning cliffs on our way through mountains to Tatvan, the cool air as far south as Van, and the rich green of the Black Sea area will never be forgotten. Despite its size, Turkey is so different, east from west, north from south.
Your eager intent to meet our every need was evident all along the way. When we wanted a different car, you found one. You were very gracious in accepting last minute changes. The itinerary Jackie suggested worked because you mapped it out so well. Thank you for being so accommodating to our requests, even though you were very concerned about a family health issue. We send you our warmest wishes.
Sincerely,
Paul and Jacklyn Clayton
